An article in The Weekend Pinnacle discussed California’s oldest lighthouse at Pt. Pinos.

The 150 year old building is near Pacific Grove. The lighthouse still has original light fixtures from 1853. The living quarters for the lighthouse keepers have been restored. A visit to the lighthouse is like a visit to the past.

Naturally, such a place sits on high, open ground overlooking the ocean. Makes for a great photo op, if you ask me!

Frans Lanting has a new book out. Life: A Journey Through Time, is a photograhpic book about the history of life on Earth. The photos are stunning, of couse, and the book is a unique concept. To find out more and see photos from the book, visit the book’s site: www.lifethroughtime.com.
