New this year, by popular demand, are our “weekenders” in New Mexico - 2 to 3 day trips to scenic NM destinations where you provide your own transportation and we meet on location. This is for the benefit of photographers who can’t take week-long vacations and/or do not have much time to practice and explore our Land of Enchantment. These short trips are opportunities to get glimpses of this very scenic state (the U.S. state with the most photographers per capita!) with the guidance of a local professional photographer, and have a taste of adventure as we go off the beaten path.

The American Juried Art Salon is holding its fourth biannual national show with a February 28, 2007 submission deadline. Our 2006 show was highly successful, resulting in 20% of the accepted artists being contacted by major North American galleries.

For the upcoming show we will be providing free jury feedback on all submissions so that artists will know why they were or were not juried into the exhibition. We will also provide news release forms with proven effectiveness.

Our Board of Distinguished Jurists includes well known art professors and directors of major galleries.

Bob Lesko’s picture of Indian Paintbrushes was chosen by Lillie Marcheski as the winner of the first annual Lilli Marcheski Nature Award.

The award was created at the beginning of 2006 by Kermit DeLaurant to honor the nature photography of Lillie Marcheski and as a way to encourage outstanding nature photography within the club. The award is open to all club members who submit a print or slide for the award. It is awarded each year at the annual banquet for the previous year.
