A massive overhaul was needed on the blog. We’re getting a new look and lots of backend improvements. Expect things to settle over the next week.

Fotoclave 2007 is 11/2-4.

If you’re interested in submitting photos for the Fotoclave competition, here’s the scoop. The categories are:

Prints

  • Monochrome
  • Nature
  • Creative
  • Color

Projected Images (slides or digital)

  • Pictorial
  • Creative
  • Nature
  • Travel
  • Photojournalism

You can submit any pictures as long as they have not been accepted into a previous Fotoclave.

All pictures will be viewed by the 6Cs group and 20 images from each category will be selected to go onto Fotoclave. Only 2 pictures from a particular individual in each category are allowed. The selection will be on 8/29 (prints) and 8/30 (slides/digital).

Hollister members who wish to submit images for selection will need to bring their work to the August club meeting on 8/28.

For further details and labeling, contact Bob. Remember — bring your competition entries to the August meeting!

The 6C Annual Awards Banquet is on February 24, 2007. The event is $42/person for a buffet dinner ticket (cash bar). The event begins at 6pm with a print exhibit. The dinner starts at 7pm, along with a slide show (put on by our own Jack!), awards and door prizes.

You must RSVP via Bob or Jack before February 10 if you plan to attend. For a printable RSVP form and dinner menu, open this PDF document.

Please note: You will pay at the door (not Bob or Jack) with cash or check. No credit cards.

Enjoy!

Bob Lesko’s picture of Indian Paintbrushes was chosen by Lillie Marcheski as the winner of the first annual Lilli Marcheski Nature Award.

The award was created at the beginning of 2006 by Kermit DeLaurant to honor the nature photography of Lillie Marcheski and as a way to encourage outstanding nature photography within the club. The award is open to all club members who submit a print or slide for the award. It is awarded each year at the annual banquet for the previous year.

Annette has been organizing the club’s banquet scheduled for January 6, beginning at 5pm, with dinner starting at 6:15pm. She reports:

The banquet will be held in a private room at Ridgemark. It will be catered by Ridgemark. The cost is $25.95-$27.95 per person. Entree selections are listed below. Ridgemark needs to know who will have what by January 2.

Dinner includes salad, selection of accompaniments, warm rolls and butter, iced tea and coffee. Dessert is Chocolate Decadence Cake for $3.50 extra.
